At Galloway, our classrooms are different. While we deliver instruction in classroom settings, our teachers and students are not bound by them. For example, in Early Learning our students develop their interests with the year long passion project and spend a week fully immersed in experiential learning with The Happening. In Middle Learning, you will find 5th graders traveling to Publix to apply learned concepts of area and volume to design a better cracker box, learners writing their own geography textbook by researching and updating old texts, 8th graders hosting a dinner party as Civil Rights activists; and all students taking part in Immersion which is a year long themed study culminating in a week long experiential learning event. Our Upper Learning students collect specimens for an environmental science class by our local pond, participate in lively discussion about literature around a seminar table, redesign a better soda can in calculus class, and immerse themselves in learning beyond the classroom walls in Excursion.

Our students take ownership of their education and are an active part of the learning process.  Learning how to learn, focusing on the process more than the product, and real world problem solving gives Galloway students the tools they need to go into the world as confident, successful, and enlightened adults. It's research based. It's forward thinking. It's who we are!
