Amir Farokhi '96

Amir started at Galloway at age 5 and attended until he graduated in 1996.Following his time at Galloway, Amir attended Duke University, where he received a B.A. in political science, and Duke University School of Law, where he received a J.D. Amir then practiced law at a major law firm before spending most of his career running non-profits and consulting for social impact organizations. In 2017, he was elected to the Atlanta City Council where he represents Downtown, Midtown, Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park, Poncey Highland and Candler Park.Amir has remained close to the Galloway community, serving on the Board of Trustees from 2005- 2010 and 2013 to the present. To this day, whenever he asks “why?” he attributes it to Galloway. This trait may not always be welcome in politics, but Amir takes pleasure in knowing Mr. Galloway would approve.
